RiverBrink Art Museum is honoured to host Jamie-Lynn Gilliingham’s Indigenous programming series.
As an Anishinaabe Kwe (First Nations Woman) and a registered Band Member of Mississaugas of the Credit First Nation, Jamie-Lynn recognizes the challenges faced by her people and Their inclusion of all others in Their Traditions. Through her work, she has developed artistic ways to support Indigenous communities while sharing meaningful experiences and transferable skills.
For this first series of three Indigenous workshops at RiverBrink, Jamie-Lynn will teach Traditional First Nations knowledge and skills of utilizing native plants to make medicine, soaps and crafts. While immersed in hands-on experience of Indigenous Knowledge, participants are encouraged to engage in conversations in this welcoming and safe space.
