Gordon Reeve's Niagara Strait

This short film by Justus Duntsch traces the creative journey charted by artist and sculptor Gordon Reeve in the production of the site-specific sculpture, Niagara Strait. Over the course of several months leading up to the completion of the sculpture, Dunstch engaged in a dialogue with the artist and documented the production and ultimate installation of the work in front of the Butterfly Conservatory in Niagara Falls. Less a documentary revealing details of materials and methods, however, this film provides context. The monumental sculpture sparks ideas and emotions, conjures revelations, and invites contemplation. This film offers a glimpse into the tides and currents that flow through the Niagara Strait.

Featuring original music composed and performed by Barbara Croall.
